Knicks, hired Pops Mensah-Bonsu as president, director of operations of the G League

The Knicks are planning to hire Pops Mensah-Bonsu as G League president and operations director, The Athletic’s Mike Vorkunov and Shams Charania reported Monday.

Mensah-Bonsu had a 10-year playing career, including four in the NBA in stints with the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors (twice), Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans (later Hornets).

Since then, Mensah-Bonsu has served as a scout for the Spurs before becoming the GM of the Washington Wizards G League squad in 2018. He will now oversee the Westchester Knicks as they seek to continue developing talent for New York.
