Knicks: Frank Ntilikina improves in defense but gets worse in attack

Frank Ntilikina prepares bread at the defensive end and is good at what he does. The defense of New York is by far the most stingy when on the ground, yielding a miniscule 95.6 points for every 100 possessions.

Once the action moves to the opposite end, however, that’s where it loses its usefulness.

According to Blacher Report, Ntilikina is an inconsistent (if not downright inaccurate) shooter from range and an unreliable finisher inside the bow. He has never been as enthusiastic as a ball mover either.

Until he finds an offensive niche, it’s unclear if he can adapt to a functional attack. Among the New York semi-regulars – he hasn’t played 20 minutes in a game yet and has only passed five minutes twice – he has the worst offensive score with a dismal 96.6. For context, the Golden State Warriors finished last season in the offensive rankings with a 104.4.
