Knicks, Chris Paul doesn’t come to NY, he traded to Suns

Veteran point guard Chris Paul is heading not to the Big Apple but to the Valley of the Sun.

The Knicks rookie president had an unrealistic dream of trading for his favorite client when he headed the Agency for Creative Artists, but ultimately didn’t heavily haunt the 35-year-old point guard by offering a mine of future resources.

Rose thought Paul could be the consummate leader who would help strengthen Tom Thibodeau’s new culture.

However, The Post learned that some front office members had doubts about giving up too much to add the 35-year-old point guard, knowing he would be excellent for young players.

According to a source, Paul’s main preference would return to the Clippers now that manager Doc Rivers was gone. The indications were that Paul had mixed feelings about joining the Knicks reconstruction.
