Knicks, Charles Oakley won the jury’s decision on the complaint of assault

The US Circuit Second Court of Appeals reinstated Oakley’s assault claims in a lawsuit filed against the team’s owners following his removal in February 2017 from a game the Knicks had lost to the LA Clippers.

A three-judge jury concluded that a jury could decide whether it was improper for security guards to throw Oakley to the ground after Oakley, according to his court documents, slapped his hands in self-defense while trying to watch the game.

The appeals court, however, dismissed Oakley’s defamation and false detention charges.
