Knicks, bad news comes from Mitchell Robinson

The New York Knicks could be without their dominant center for a while, as Mitchell Robinson has already been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Toronto Raptors with ankle inflammation.

Robinson was injured late in the first half Friday against the Celtics, though Robinson said via Stefan Bondy of the New York Post that he could have suffered the initial injury a week earlier. He didn’t start the second half against Boston, returned to the game briefly and then didn’t play the entire fourth quarter.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau added after Sunday’s practice that Robinson will undergo “further testing” on the ankle, according to The Athletic’s Fred Katz. Over the weekend he underwent x-rays, which came back negative, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

“I don’t know,” Thibodeau said when The Athletic’s Fred Katz asked him about the severity of the injury. «He is being examined by the medical staff. So until we have the report, it will just be speculation.”
