Knicks, Austin Rivers is a candidate for a trade

The New York Knicks have just brought former MVP Derrick Rose back to life, and this could be bad news for one of their current backcourt pieces.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Sunday that Knicks guard Austin Rivers is likely to be sought after by contenders on trade market. The addition of Rose further complicates the squad’s guard traffic jam, which includes Rivers, Elfrid Payton, Frank Ntilikina, Alec Burks, and Immanuel Quickley.

Rivers, 28, signed an unsecured three-year deal with the Knicks in the off-season. This season he has had a lot of time to play off the bench. Rivers averages 8.2 points and 2.2 assists in 23.3 minutes per game.

While not exactly the most exciting trade goal, Rivers brings the scoring and playoff experience to the table.
