How will the Knicks replace Obi Toppin?

Fans have been waiting for who the New York Knicks will place over Obi Toppin on the depth chart following the former eighth overall pick’s departure this offseason. Isaiah Roby, one of the Knicks’ most undercover signings last season, could fill the void Toppin is leaving behind by backing Julius Randle with big-hit potential this season.

At his peak in the 2021-2022 season, Roby averaged 10 points in 21 minutes, shooting 44% from 3-point range while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. That iteration of the Thunder was a young and skilled group with little to no expectation of winning. Averaging nine points per game throughout his OKC run, Roby’s output has remained consistent on one of the youngest teams in the NBA, displaying needed poise and delivering consistent results.

Now, with the opportunity to play Mecca, the golden ticket, he’s cooking up the perfect recipe for success. Roby has the city of New York under his belt and his all-star teammate Julius Randle is sure to influence him as well.
