This is a major offseason for the New York Knicks, who will be one of four teams with an actual space limit to spend in a lackluster free agent class.
Fred VanVleet should be the main focus of the Knicks. Check all the boxes. He can score, deliver, shoot, defend, he’s a winner, and he’s young enough to line up with the core of RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson’s team. He will cost between $ 20-25 million per year and New York will have to compete with Toronto, Detroit and possibly Atlanta or Phoenix. If the Knicks don’t enlist a point guard, it will be a sign that they are likely going for VanVleet.
