The Knicks found a way to trade Evan Fournier

The New York Knicks have reportedly been trying to trade Evan Fournier for months, however, his playing style and contract have made it difficult to seal a deal. Many thought the organization was sure to transfer him this summer and he would have to drop plans or take another contract to get out of less than the $18 million he’s owed next season. But it seems they have found the perfect business partner for Fournier.

On Sunday, Heavy.com NBA insider Sean Deveney spoke with an NBA executive who said the New York Knicks may soon trade Fournier to a team that sees unique value in him and may not need to give up picks at the moment draft or get a player back in a potential deal.

“There has been some interest from San Antonio in making a deal; they would give up next to nothing to the Knicks, so get Fournier there to mentor Victor Wembanyama,” the executive said. “San Antonio could bring him into the cap space, which would free up more wiggle room for the Knicks.”
