Before reaching the elusive 16 wins needed for a championship, the New York Knicks are aiming for 50.
Entering the weekend, the Knicks (39-27) hold fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 16 games remaining on their docket. While it’s not a guarantee, getting to 50 wins would give them a solid shot at securing that fourth-place finish and the home-field advantage that comes with it.
An updated Bleacher Report projection has the Knicks just shy of that mark with 48.
“If the Knicks can get to full strength by the end of the season, they might actually cry,” writes Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report . “The Knicks must have really angered the basketball gods, given the wrath cast upon them by the injury. However, they are as healthy as they have been in some time, even as they still await the return of Julius Randle (shoulder) and Mitchell Robinson (ankle).”
