Will the Knicks be able to convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to play at Garden?

As reported by YardBarker.com, there are only a handful of teams in the mix for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The team may not have to wait until next year to find out if they have won the Antetokounmpo lotteries as the Bucks may trade it if they don’t think they will keep it free agency. To at least get some value for him.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Los Angeles Clippers are among the teams expected to pursue a deal for Antetokounmpo. Other teams interested in the talented Bucks star include the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Toronto Raptors, and Dallas Mavericks.

The chances of Antetokounmpo being traded by the Bucks, however, are slim. The reigning MVP is entitled to sign a super-max extension with Milwaukee, and multiple sources are “adamant” that the club won’t trade him unless he puts pen to paper, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.

It’s hard to see how Heat and Raptors can compete with Clippers or Warriors, two franchises at the pinnacle of winning titles. The Mavericks are a growing team but already have their generational megastar in Luka Doncic, a challenge for the salary cap.

Here’s a thought: New York is the Mecca of basketball and provides a strong backdrop for an elite player looking to win in a team built in his image. The Knicks, like no other team, provide this opportunity. They are willing to give Antetokounmpo and other stars the keys to the castle, but will that be enough to lure him or any of them to the Garden?
