The New York Knicks got a slap in the face early in the season. They couldn’t contain the historic shooting performance of the Boston Celtics and lost in a crushing 132-109 loss. New York falls to 0-1 on the year while Boston begins its title defense with a 1-0 record on the season.
Despite the ugly loss, there were some positives to take away, most notably the performance of their guards. However, the story of the night will be that the Knicks have work to do if they want to compete with the Celtics for the Eastern Conference crown.
“We have to play better, but I’m not disappointed in our team,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said after the game.
