The Pistons beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden

The Pistons return to winning ways after three losses in a row and do it at Madison Square Garden, surprising the Knicks who had not lost in four games. A sore knee keeps Karl-Anthony Towns out of the game and nerves get the better of Josh Hart who is ejected in the fourth quarter with his second technical foul, but the Pistons deserve the win by going up 17 before suffering a comeback to -2 by the Knicks, who are however sent back with a 12-2 partial to make the 31 points by Jalen Brunson and the 20 by Mikal Bridges for the home team useless.

In their history, the Detroit Pistons had never seen one of their players achieve a triple double at Madison Square Garden: the first to do so was Cade Cunningham, leader of his team with 29 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists (numbers reached only by Isiah Thomas in a Pistons jersey) for his fifth triple double of the season, behind only Jokic’s 9 in the NBA. Along with him, there were also 23 points from Malik Beasley off the bench and 16 from Jaden Ivey.
