The Knicks made the decision on Derrick Rose

Eventually Derrick Rose will leave New York. The Knicks will not accept the option for next season and Rose will be an unrestricted free agent.

Despite his great relationship with Tom Thibodeau, Rose fell out of the rotations this final season. The excellent performances of Jalen Brunson, and those of young players such as Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes convinced Thibodeau not to rely on Rose anymore.

In the previous two seasons, Rose was an active part of Thibodeau’s rotations, but not this season. It is inevitable that Rose will leave the Knicks.

Barring sensational surprises, Derrick Rose will return to Chicago. The Bulls are building the new roster around Zach LaVine who will not leave the franchise. With so many question marks, especially related to Lonzo Ball that we will hardly see him next season, Derrick Rose could be the right man to make the Bulls competitive again.

Other teams thinking of Rose are the Pelicans and the Hawks, but the Bulls are the most probable and preferred destination of the now-former Knick.
