The New York Knicks are in the midst of a renaissance era and are reportedly seeking a trade for the Philadelphia 76ers’ reigning league MVP Joel Embiid.
The Knicks failed to capitalize on the moves of All-NBA talents Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks), but rumors indicate that Embiid, wanting to leave Philadelphia, could give the Knicks one of their greatest players in the history of the franchise.
The Knicks have the pieces to give Embiid a boost. New York has a horde of draft picks between now and 2030, including six first-round selections in 2024 and 2025 combined.
Additionally, All-Star forward Julius Randle, 28, is under contract for three more seasons averaging about $30 million. Randle would almost certainly have to be included in any deal, as Embiid’s supermax contract is set to cross the $50 million mark after this season.
