The New York Knicks have what it takes to improve. Since they have stockpiled first-round picks, they could use them to get more upgrades. One possible upgrade would be Brooklyn Nets forward Mikal Bridges.
Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey explained why Bridges would want to add to what the Knicks have already built in an April 8 article.
“Adding his outside shot to Donte DiVincenzo’s would give Brunson a lot of space for drives. And his multi-positional defense would immediately make him a favorite of Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau.”
Bailey added that Bridges would cost less than other NBA stars and how he could replace another Knicks star.
“Also, Bridges likely won’t cost as much as Mitchell or Giannis. Bojan Bogdanović and most of the Knicks’ draft assets could make it. This could make it feasible to pass up re-signing OG Anunoby in free agency if the front office is concerned about his lack of durability.
Bridges is in the second year of a four-year, $91 million contract with the Nets. The Nets originally acquired Bridges believing he could be a franchise cornerstone for their future. However, not only will the Nets miss the playoffs, but Bridges averaged 20 points while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from three.
