The Knicks could target Yoeli Childs in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft

The Knicks interviewed Childs recently, according to SNY sources, and those sources said Childs made a strong impression during interviews with the teams they had early / mid-round picks.

The Knicks have the 38th pick in the second round. The club interviewed dozens of players, so the fact that they interviewed Childs shouldn’t be disproportionate. But he confirms that the club has a big man interest level of 6-8,255 pounds.

Childs was a finalist for the NCAA Karl Malone Award, awarded to the top striker in college basketball. Last season he scored 22 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, shooting 54% from the field. He also hit 49 percent of his 3-point attempts (2.4 per game).

Several teams said Childs, an elder, impressed in his other pre-draft interviews.

It is worth noting that teams in this uncertain draft may lean towards taking a player with a higher floor like 22-year-old Childs, as opposed to a player who has a high advantage but is less than the finished product.
