If the New York Knicks decide to pursue Lowry, it would solve some of the problems they have had on the bench. However, Dejounte Murray is the top target during this trade deadline. It’s unclear whether the Knicks are willing to trade what the Atlanta Hawks are asking for, but as the deadline approaches, they could increase their offer.
Marc Stein reported that no team has met the Hawks’ asking price when it comes to a Murray trade.
“A team willing to meet Atlanta’s demands in a Murray trade has yet to emerge. The Hawks are said to be seeking two future firsts and team-friendly contracts in return. But we’re still almost three weeks away from someone making an offer like that,” Stein said on Jan. 19 during his weekly chat with paid subscribers of the substack newsletter.
If the Knicks can land Murray in a trade or Lowry in a buyout, they will be a better team.
