According to Bleacher’s Zach Buckley, the Chicago Bulls may consider trading either Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan.
Buckley teased a trade that would have seen Chicago get a little younger but remain competitive. It’s deal with the New York Knicks that would see the Bulls sign RJ Barrett.
Here is the complete outline of Buckley’s trade proposal:
Bulls Receive: RJ Barrett, Isaiah Hartenstein
Knicks Receive: DeMar DeRozan
“A deal like this would give the Bulls some breathing room without completely abandoning the idea of competing as soon as possible”, Buckley wrote. “Trading DeMar DeRozan for RJ Barrett would make Chicago younger and more resilient defensively on the wings. While DeRozan is the top scorer and creator now, things could change Barrett’s direction sooner rather than later”.
This trade could also be useful for the Knicks:
“In the meantime, the Knicks may see their playoff exit as a reason to add offensive firepower,” Buckley wrote. “DeRozan is the player right now that they hope Barrett will one day become. Make this deal and New York would have one of the highest scoring trios in the league with DeRozan, Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle”.
