The Knicks are wary of giving up too many resources in Chris Paul trade

ESPN reported that Phoenix and the Thunder talked about a potential Chris Paul trade. Paul has also been linked to the Knicks and there are people in the organization who believe Paul can help jump-start their desire to build a winning culture and can help their young players.

But there is a concern about the amount of assets New York would have to sell to be trade for Paul.

Some MSG folks are wary of giving up too many resources in a deal with Paul because they want to ensure New York has enough capital for a future exchange for another high-profile player, SNY sources say.

It’s unclear what Oklahoma City would ask for in a Paul acquisition deal, but if Phoenix and other teams were involved in the offer, it would presumably raise the price.
