The New York Knicks will not have Paul George in the blue and orange jersey starting in the 2024-25 season.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that George agreed to a massive four-year, $212 million contract to join the Philadelphia 76ers in the early hours of Monday, July 1 (thanks to Jason Owens of Yahoo Sports).
The 76ers had all the cap space in the world to make George an offer he couldn’t refuse after being left with only Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul Reed as key players on their payroll. George now forms a trio with the aforementioned All-Stars Embiid and Maxey in Philadelphia, which puts more of a burden on the Knicks to get their roster in place before the start of next season.
