The Knicks are considered the best fit for a potential replacement for Mitchell Robinson

The New York Knicks have been dealing with injuries and that could be related to some of the moves they make before the February 8 trade deadline. Mitchell Robinson’s latest injury update is encouraging, but that doesn’t mean the Knicks won’t ease him up when he returns. Coach Tom Thibodeau said he’s shooting and added the following, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Post:

“But it’s limited,” Thibodeau said. “We have to go step by step. Just follow the medical protocol until he is cleared to start racing.”

With Robinson limited, this is where a trade comes into play. If the Knicks believe Robinson won’t be fully healthy for another few weeks or months, Daniel Gafford of the Washington Wizards could be an ideal target. The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie pegged the Knicks as one of the best positions for the Wizards’ center.
