Teams have shown interest in Elfrid Payton after Derrick Rose trade to the Knicks, per report

The New York Knicks could continue to pursue more deals in the trade market, after acquiring Derrick Rose from the Detroit Pistons.

As Ian Begley of the SNY reported, ‘at least one team in playoff contention has shown interest in New York’s point guard Elfrid Payton.’

Rose, who got traded to the Knicks in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr. and a second-round pick, will join the guard tantrum of Austin Rivers and Immanuel Quickley.

Payton records 12.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season, however he is shooting a horrendous 25.0 percent from deep.

The Knicks are in playoff contention having the eighth best record (9-13) in the Eastern Conference. Payton could provide cover in the point guard position for any team in the league.
