Super night for DiVincenzo who scores 11 triples for 40 final points

New York confirms the rule that sees it winning 15 consecutive games against Detroit, once again putting the Villanova boys on display. Jalen Brunson finished with 28 points and Josh Hart signed his sixth triple double of the season but above all Donte DiVincenzo signed a franchise record by making 11 triples, giving New York their sixth victory in the last seven. The guests did not go beyond the 24 points scored by Marcus Sasser, while Evan Fournier scored 15 on his return to Madison Square Garden.

Evening to remember for Donte DiVincenzo, who scored 40 points in 41 minutes with 14/23 from the field including 11/20 from long range, beating the franchise record held by JR Smith and Fournier with 10. The Garden crowd accompanies his every touch of the ball with the cry “Shoot! Shoot” as is usually done for Steph Curry, and DiVincenzo didn’t have to be asked: “It’s a great feeling, but it’s not easy either when 20,000 people are shouting at you to shoot” he said after the match.
