As good as Russell Westbrook is, he is arguably one of the most criticized superstars in the NBA today. Between his inability to win a ring, his unstable jump shot and his ruthless style of play, he seems to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

For some, like ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, he simply hasn’t achieved enough team success no matter how much his talent is hooded.

However, despite Smith’s position, he openly admitted in ESPN’s “Stephen A.’s World” that Westbrook could be an asset to the Knicks.

“I recently joined Russell Westbrook because once again you are not winning enough and on top of that you have not worked on your jump shot ok because it doesn’t seem to improve but everything else in terms of tenacity its veracity its athleticism its ability to putting on dry points here would be an advantage for the New York Knicks now.

I don’t think it’s going to happen because he’s making too much money and the New York Knicks are in the midst of a cultural shift, so they’re not trying to change but so much, but I’ll tell you where it gets interesting.

Tom Thibodeau trains in New York City with those guys who play defense and play together the stubbornness that Russell Westbrook shows if you can bring out that in one touch Russell Westbrook is an asset”.
