Scott Perry will be the GM of the Knicks

The soap opera in the Knicks has ended: Scott Perry will be the next GM in New York. According to SNY, Perry has a new one-year deal for 2020-21. He previously served as general manager of former team president Steve Mills.

Mills was removed from his position in February shortly before the NBA’s commercial deadline. Perry was the provisional chief executive of the organization before Rose took official control in early March.

Rose has a strong relationship with Perry; they worked together on the trade that sent Carmelo Anthony – then Rose’s client – to Oklahoma City in 2017 shortly after Perry assumed his role with the Knicks. They had also worked together regularly during Perry’s stints in other teams’ front offices.

Rose had leaned on Perry since taking office as team president.
