Russell Westbrook moves away from Houston and he may be an option for the Knicks

It wasn’t Russell Westbrook’s fault that the Rockets lost to the Los Angeles Lakers, as the Lakers are really good, but his takeover sent the Rockets into a den of no return.

An untimely quadruple injury meant the Rockets could never see how far Westbrook and James Harden’s collaboration would take them. The feeling around the franchise is that the duo won’t be enough to claim a championship. Acquiring Westbrook and then trying to maximize it left the closet naked.

For this reason, the Houston Rockets could trade for Westbrook.

The New York Knicks are in the midst of another reconstruction. However, a reconstruction of the Knicks never comes to fruition. It always ends with the Knicks attempting to microwave a roster in contention, and their recent hire of Tom Thibodeau only increases the likelihood of the picks and pups being cashed in for pushing veteran talent to the Big Apple.

Could the Knicks, under the leadership of Tom Thibodeau, make an impression for Russell Westbrook?

The Knicks, for the first time in centuries, won’t be basketball’s main attraction in New York. Thibodeau, on his final stop in Minnesota, pushed his chips to acquire an alpha veteran in Jimmy Butler to try and push the Timberwolves to the next level.

The move worked and didn’t work, but it had more to do with the young core of the T-Wolves and less with Jimmy Butler and Thibodeau. If Rockets GM Daryl Morey is looking to dump Westbrook and restock the asset closet, he should call James Dolan and Tom Thibodeau.
