The Chicago Bulls are expected to shut down point guard Lonzo Ball for the rest of the 2022/23 season, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link).
K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago first reported that the team was “widely expected” to announce sometime after the All-Star break that Ball would miss the remainder of the season.
It cannot be ruled out that the Bulls may decide to focus on Derrick Rose. Rose excluded him from the rotations, he declared that he wanted to stay with the Knicks, however, not excluding listening to a team that might need a veteran point guard. Derrick Rose would be open to a possible buyout, even more so if the Chicago Bulls are involved.
