RJ Barrett expected to miss at least a week for Knicks

New York Knicks swingman RJ Barrett is expected to miss at least a week due to a lacerated right index finger, a source noted Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News.

Barrett injured his finger in the opening minutes of the Knicks’ eventual loss against the Dallas Mavericks last Tuesday, wherein he appeared to have been accidentally scratched by Luka Doncic in a battle for a loose ball.

This season, Barrett is averaging 19.7 points per game to go with 5.5 boards, and 3.0 assists in 42.7 percent shooting. He is draining 33.3 percent from the three-point distance out of 5.3 attempts average.

With him likely to be out, coach Tom Thibodeau may increase the minutes of Quentin Grimes and Miles McBride to fill that crucial starting void.
