RJ Barrett was one of the best players in one of the best teams during the 2018-19 university basketball season and, therefore, the New York Knicks selected him with the third overall choice in the 2019 NBA Draft.
After finishing with the worst record in the 2018-19 season, the Knicks lost the draft lottery and received the third overall choice. The good news is that the Knicks got a future stud in RJ Barrett who had an excellent rookie season.
In his first year in the NBA, Barrett averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, good enough to end up as the second highest scorer among the players who are currently in the Knicks.
That said, Barrett has some serious potential and could legitimately turn into an All-Star player in the next two seasons.
