Reggie Miller scored eight points in nine seconds against the Knicks 25 years ago today

Reggie Miller stunned Madison Square Garden and lifted the Indiana Pacers to a 107-105 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 1 of their second-round series.

He hit a 3-pointer with 16.4 seconds left, which made the score 105-102 New York. He then stole Anthony Mason’s inbound pass when Knicks’ point guard Greg Anthony slipped. Miller got away with a bit of a push on Anthony. He took the ball, stepped behind the line and drilled another 3-pointer to tie the game.

Sam Mitchell of the Pacers then inexplicably fouled John Starks, giving the Knicks a chance to take the lead, but Starks missed both free throws. Patrick Ewing got an offensive rebound but he also missed. Miller grabbed the rebound and the Knicks then inexplicably fouled him.

Miller made both free throws with 7.5 seconds remaining for the Knicks but once again, Anthony slipped and fell down. Time expired before the Knicks could get a shot off.
