The New York Knicks may have trouble re-signing Isaiah Hartenstein, who will be a free agent, this offseason after a brilliant 2023-24 season.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the 26-year-old center could get a contract that will pay him up to $100 million. Due to the New York Knicks salary cap situation, there is a great possibility that Isaiah Hartenstein will go elsewhere.
“The Knicks will simply offer their center a four-year, $72.5 million contract due to his Early Bird rights. Any interested rival team will have the option to double that amount, up to $151.6 million over the same four-year period,” Fischer wrote in his article.
“There is little expectation that he will get such a significant amount, but league executives and cap strategists predict that Hartenstein will be able to get at least $80 million, and perhaps more than $100 million, from a team that hopes to steal Hartenstein from Madison Square Garden,” he added.
