New York Knicks, interviewed LaMelo Ball in preparation for the 2020 NBA Draft

LaMelo Ball told reporters on Zoom on Monday that he interviewed the New York Knicks ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft.

After dropping two points in the lottery draw, New York is poised to select eighth overall, which is likely many choices are too late to secure Ball; however, it is possible that the Knicks may orchestrate a trade to go up to select the talented point guard. Most mocks consider the younger ball sibling to be a Top 4 choice.

LaMelo declined to indicate whether the Knicks hinted at their willingness to trade to enlist him. Interestingly, New York was the only team he noticed the encounter with.

The Knicks spoke to Ball before they knew the lottery results. By entering the draw, New York had a 37.2% chance of finishing in the top four picks. The New York Post indicated earlier this summer that Ball is “unequivocally” the best point guard on the Knicks draw.
