The New York Knicks are interested in Isaac Okoro, according to the New York Post. The Knicks are looking for a hard-working player to help with their rebuilding process. The Knicks have had an abundance of failed draft picks over the years like Kevin Knox, Frank Ntilikina and they traded away Kristaps Porzingis.
RJ Barrett is still a work in progress. Okoro is being compared to Jaylen Brown and OG Onunoby. While he has a great defensive game, the Knicks hope he will be able to develop an offensive game. The Knicks pick eighth in the NBA Draft and Okoro is projected to be drafted in that range. This could be a match made in heaven.
Here’s what ESPN college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg said about Okoro:
“He’s a winner,’’ Greenberg told The Post. “He probably could defend 1-to-4 without an issue. He’s physically strong. He’s got a good floor game. You can post him up. He’s got some similarities to Jaylen. Physically strong, really defend and a toughness about him. High energy. Relentless work ethic. The thing I like the most is just his relentlessness.”
