Mitchell Robinson and RJ Barrett will be the Knicks of the future

The goal of the Knicks is to return to being a competitive franchise, and therefore to return to play the playoffs.

To achieve this goal, Mitchell Robinson and RJ Barrett will be part of the next Knicks team. This means that neither Barrett nor Robinson will be part of a trade.

But what about the rest of the team? This is a little more difficult to project. When a new manager arrives, he is generally less invested in the players he inherits. So you can see Rose being more open to switching between players on the current roster because she hasn’t entered any of them.

No current Knick has a fully guaranteed contract beyond the 2020-21 season. So you would think players like Smith Jr., Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina will have to excel in 2020-21 to secure their future in New York under Rose.
