The New York Knicks will look to re-sign OG Anunoby this offseason. Anunoby is considered one of the best players on the market, but after finding success with the Knicks, the reunion makes sense for both parties.
If they added Bridges, they would get another player who can defend at an elite level. Opposing offenses would have an even tougher time than they already faced against New York, as they finished with the ninth-best net rating in the NBA last season.
SNY’s David Vertsberger wrote that if the Knicks traded for Bridges, they would form “the most talented pair of wing role players.” In that scenario, Anunoby would also re-sign.
“Bridges and Anunoby would create the most talented pair of wing role players in the league, and none of those who transformed the Knicks from a struggling franchise to a perennial playoff team are lost,” Vertsberger wrote on March 27. they need to shoot 20 times a game or operate from specific spots on the floor, and would fit well into the culture of hard work and defense established by Tom Thibodeau.
