One of the players at the center of many debates is Frank Ntilikina. Although many are unhappy with his performance, it must be remembered that Ntilikina is only 21 years old.
The French guard is still in his rookie contract for the next season, after which he will become eligible for a limited free agency, so technically, the Knicks still retain control of the team over him for two more seasons. It may be more expensive to try to find a player who can offer defensive intensity and ease in the locker room than to keep Ntilikina on the roster.
Leon Rose seems ready to spend some time evaluating the resources he already has before looking for new ones. Frank could buy more time for auditions in New York.
