Leon Rose and the search for the new GM

New York Knicks president Leon Rose should take a thorough review if he decides to make a change to the general manager.

For Marc Berman of the New York Post, Rose will do her due diligence when deciding whether to detain Scott Perry.

Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reported earlier this month that Rose targeted Philadelphia 76ers general manager Elton Brand.

Perry signed a five-year contract with the Knicks when he was hired as general manager in June 2017.

This is the last guaranteed year of Perry’s contract, although Berman has noted that he is expected to direct the draft for the Knicks this summer. The 2020 NBA Draft is slated for June 30, although the league may move it back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Knicks reorganized their front office during the season, starting in February, when they announced that Steve Mills would leave his position as president. Perry was in charge of basketball operations until Rose officially took over on March 2nd.
