LaMelo Ball and the New York Knicks are perhaps the best player-team combination possible in the NBA 2020 project.
New York needs a guard and it shouldn’t be surprising that the organization is interested in LaMelo.
And the attraction is mutual.
While on the Complex Load Management podcast, LaVar Ball said he believed LaMelo fit the Knicks perfectly.
“I think so. The bright lights, East Coast,” he said before campaigning for all three of the Ball brothers who connected to New York.
Although it is possible to resume the 2019-20 season, the Knicks hold the sixth worst record in the NBA. Just 1.5 games ahead of the Atlanta Hawks for the second worst record, the bottom of the league table could change substantially.
But if the NBA decides to start the playoffs immediately, New York will remain in the hope of stealing one of the top four positions – only a 37.2% chance right now – in the 2020 NBA lottery.
If the lottery didn’t end up favoring the Knicks, they could orchestrate a trade to acquire Ball.
