LaMelo Ball doesn’t talk about the interviews with the teams, he only mentions the Knicks

Ball’s father, LaVar, would like to see him play for the Knicks. He said New York would be the “best fit” for his son, despite LaMelo being widely regarded as one of the top three potential clients and the Knicks holding the No. 8. To get it, they would probably need an exchange.

Although LaMelo distanced himself from his father’s views on Monday when meeting reporters for the NBA Draft Combine, he admitted he interviewed the Knicks in the pre-draft process. In fact, that was the only team he would specify.

Ball declined to say if he had met with any other team, including the Timberwolves who have the absolute number 1 pick. When asked if he had spoken to them, Ball replied “I don’t know”, which was a cryptic way. not to answer.

This could help fuel some conspiracy theories that Ball wants to play for New York, as he was clearly going to great lengths not to name other teams. Ball, however, said he would play for whoever drafted him, essentially saying all 30 teams would be “a perfect fit”.

Also, he didn’t say much about his meeting with the Knicks: “It was basically just a meeting,” he said.
