Kristaps Porzingis burned again by Marcus Morris

Former New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis was sent off from his first playoff game after a highly questionable second technical foul in Dallas’ Game 1 defeat to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

With 9:10 left in the third quarter, the former lottery winner, who asked out of New York in 2019, had a fight with none other than former Knick Marcus Morris.

Porzingis was defending his teammate Luka Doncic after Morris grabbed him following the whistle on the game that led to the altercation. A few shoves were launched between Morris and Porzingis, but nothing that would have made the players of the 90s Knicks squad jump.

Both players received technical double, but as he was Porzingis’ second in the night, he was automatically sent off.

For Knicks fans, it was another example of Marcus Morris playing their former player spoiler. At the start of the regular season, before the coronavirus and playoff bubbles and when Morris was still in New York, the sturdy striker was instrumental in leading the Knicks to two upset wins over Porzingis and Mavericks.

Could his clutch three in KP’s return to Garden have been a Knick’s biggest hit since, I don’t know, Carmelo Anthony was leading the team to the playoffs in 2013?
