Knicks, who will Thibodeau’s assistants be?

Newsday recently reported that interim coach Mike Miller is almost certain to train the new staff. It seems that former Knicks manager Mike Woodson also has an internal track for a lead assistant role.

Who will Thibodeau’s assistants be? Perhaps the best question is how the staff will work together considering it will be a bit of a forced marriage.

Thibs has a strong personality and a high work ethic. It would seem that both Miller and Woodson blend in well with his personality. However, it is impossible to know how a staff will perform until they are thrown into battle together.

The New York Daily News reported that Thibodeau could fill his staff with the likes of Kenny Payne and Rod Strickland. The new Knicks coach will say some of the names that join him in the coaching meetings.

Could Thibs carry a chip on his shoulder for not being able to hire all his boys? We’ll see. It will be an early indicator of how tight the front office and coaching staff will be as they try to change things in New York.
