Knicks, Thibodeau postgame: “Our battle was exceptional”

The furious return to a Knicks 133-129 overtime win over the Grizzlies in a dizzying Garden could only serve as a stepping stone.

Top scorers Julius Randle and RJ Barrett were mostly invisible for three quarters, but the pair combined for 23 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the Knicks frantically recovered from a 13-point hole. The complete comeback allowed coach Tom Thibodeau’s team to win the first of 11 games in which they will play nine times in front of home fans.

“I thought our battle was exceptional. Perseverance”, Thibodeau said. “And in the end we made things go our way”.
