Thibodeau was asked if he plans to play Ntilikina off the ball this season. During his response, he referred to the versatility of Quickley, a novice combo guard.

“The thing I like about (Ntilikina) is that he can (play) both (point guard and shooting guard) – same thing with ‘Quick’,” Thibodeau said, referring to Quickley. “I think what we’ve seen a lot now is that you have a point guard, you have three wings and you have a big one. So it’s not as traditional as it used to be. “And I like the fact that we have point guards who can do that. Quickley did it in college. It’s similar to the way I used my guards in Chicago. I think that’s a big advantage to have because defensive point guards are used to protecting guys from dribbling and now you can get them in catch and shoot, bypassing screens and that sort of thing.

“Sometimes you can get a head start this way. Obviously the readings of the circle are all the same for each player. When you watch NBA today, you often see more than one point guard on the floor or see two combo guards on the floor together. This is what I like about our list. “
