Thibodeau and the Knicks have hired Johnnie Bryant, Kenny Payne, Mike Woodson and Andy Greer as assistants. They added Dice Yoshimoto as an assistant to the coach. Thibodeau said the club plans to add more coaches to the staff.

“We have a few more guys that we will add along the way,” Thibodeau said. “So we just have to be patient and work our way. But I’m thrilled with the staff we have.”

SNY reported that the Knicks plan to hire a separate group of development coaches.

Thibodeau was probably referring to the development staff in his comments on Friday.

Thibodeau said this Friday about his current assistants:

“We have a number of coaches who are exceptional teachers and that was crucial for me,” Thibodeau said. “We’re talking about a Johnnie Bryant, a Kenny Payne, a Woodson, an Andy Greer – they will be involved in all aspects of the organizations in terms of game planning, player development, their ideas, their thoughts. We have a lot of work to do and all of them have had great experiences, so I’m excited about that part. “
