Obi Toppin’s injury could force the Knicks to think about some new trade. The last suggestion, however, concerns the possible return of Carmelo Anthony to New York. The veteran player is without a team and we don’t know if he will ever play in the NBA again.
Carmelo has already found himself in this condition a couple of times in recent years. Portland then bet on him and was successful. The same happened with the Lakers. Can this happen with the Knicks too? We do not know, but for the moment his return to New York does not seem to be feasible.
In fact, his characteristics would clash with the style of play of the Knicks and Thibodeau. Carmelo Anthony would not fit into the Knicks defense. A return of him is therefore to be excluded with the Knicks so they will have to find another solution.
