It’s rivalry week in the NBA and Tuesday night will be the Battle of the Districts between the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks.
This matchup will serve as the second of a total of four between the two teams, with the previous meeting scheduled for December 20, where Jacque Vaughn’s club was defeated with a final score of 121-102.
This time, the Nets will likely seek revenge in front of what will hopefully be a raucous home crowd at Barclays Center.
And while some may believe that the atmosphere will be amplified due to the new rivalry schedule, Knicks star Julius Randle recently noted that, with emphasis from the league or not, whenever these two clubs face each other it is always seen as an opportunity for great expansion.
Knicks star Julius Randle talks rivalry with Brooklyn Nets
“The rivalry is more of a city thing, a New York thing that I’ll let the fans discuss. It’s definitely always a different vibe and energy when we play them, for sure.”
