Josh Hart has repeatedly said that he wants to stay in New York and based on how he performed after the trade deadline, the front office would go crazy to let him walk. Understandably, the belief is that Hart will sign a long-term deal with the Knicks in free agency. According to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, an extension for Hart and New York is expected to “approach $18 million a year.”
On the HoopsHype podcast, Michael Scotto said he believed a four-year, $72 million deal would be “a good fit” for Hart and the Knicks. Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, who was a guest on the podcast, said he has heard Hart’s new contract could be in the range of $70 to $75 million.
