Knicks sign veteran forward to non-guaranteed contract

The New York Knicks made a roster change the same day they made the Karl-Anthony Towns deal official, signing veteran forward TJ Warren to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract on Wednesday, according to SNY’s Ian Begley.

Warren, 31, has a chance to carve out a spot on the Knicks’ active roster given the lack of wing depth on the bench after trading Donte DiVincenzo as part of the Towns deal. At 6-8 and 220 pounds, he could provide the bench with some much-needed size with added versatility. Currently, the only player above 6-5 on the bench is Precious Achiuwa, who is listed at 6-8.

It’s unlikely he’ll play a ton of minutes behind OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges if he makes the active roster, but he’s still a solid addition to the depth department with just three weeks left until the start of the regular season.
