Knicks’ shooting struggles cost them a chance to win

The New York Knicks failed to get a revenge win over Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, losing to them in a close 97-94. New York is now 42-24 on the season while Golden State continues to win and is 39-28.

New York did its job defensively, holding the Warriors under 100 points for the first time since Jan. 20 (h/t Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News ) and holding them under 40 percent from the field. However, the Knicks still couldn’t get the win due to another poor shooting night.

New York shot just 9-of-24 from three, while the Warriors made 13 of 41 threes. Both percentages aren’t exceptionally high, but Golden State did have timely shots from Stephen Curry (28 points) and Moses Moody (18 points).

The Knicks got very little off the bench, as they scored just four points and were 0-for-5 from three. Additionally, Josh Hart had his worst offensive game of the season, scoring zero points in 39 minutes on 0-for-7 shooting from the field.

Their 94 points tied for their fewest in a game this season, and it was also the second time during their five-game road trip that they scored fewer than 100 points.
